possable new truck
Hey all,
I'm considering buying the 07 dodge ram 1500 quad cab. 2 wd With the 5.7 hemi. I drove it tonight and think it is a nice ride for a truck. I also have the dodge charger, I'm giving that to my wife and it only has 10,000 miles on it. She has a pt cruiser and we both hate it. She says she would rather drive the charger anyhow. I told her that I would get her the new car and keep my charger. For some unknown reason she just wants the charger. So long story short, what do you all think. Am i going to be pissed off and hate the truck. Do you all think it will be a nice truck. Ive been reading your postings and seem to be seeing some of the same problems. someone even posted somthing about dodge knowing the problems and not caring about the consumer. I have not noted this though. Opinions please. be honest.[8D]

The truck is going to be great. The thing about buying new cars, is that the dealer no matter who it is know about many problems and doesn't want to change them due to cost effectiveness. Dodges have alot of what seems to be electrical or small electrical componet problems. Not really a big deal. Then you goto FORD and they have suspension problems, problems with the AC system, and they can not seem to get the door electrical problems right. Then you bounce over to Chevy and they are similiar to Dodge. Many small electrical problems. The good news is that the engine and tranny are strong, and you will have to deal with minor problems no matter what you buy, unless you plan on spending a small fortune for a $75k vehicle. You will be happy with the dodge, yes there is a great chance that it will be in the shop a couple of times while under warranty, but if you like the look, and like to mod your vehicles, the Hemi is the most fun to play with.
If you need piece of mind, you could always buy the extended warranty from the dealer. I did not though, becuase, when my warranty is up, I want to do engine mods. So I am going to let all the things happen that need to happen, if they are going to happen, and in about 1.5 years when I run my warranty out, then I get to have more fun than I already am having...

Is this a trick question? I am really sure I don't know what YOU will like. Going from a sports car to a truck is like night ant day. It's like comparing fruit to bolts then adding an unknown factor of what YOU like into the mix. If you like trucks then chances are that you will like a QC ram.

I have a 00 vette along with the truck. Not the same. Will you be happy? If you expect the truck to handle, accelerate, use fuel, etc... just like the charger - then you will hate the truck.
dude, we have a 2007 HEMI... its an awesome truck! we had it for 2 months already. we love it more and more each day. we plan on modding it but we dont have the money right now. it is a great truck. if ya liked it, go for it! if you liked your dealer, youll have a much better experience with the truck.
