Pretty much generic for anything I guess.
What oil do you use? I just use 5w or 10w depending on the time of year.

The original owner always used the Penzoil 5w20 synthetic blend that the Fast Lane has in the pumps at the dealerships. I have been using it too. Even though I have my MDS disabled, I want to keep the parts clean. I don't switch weights in Tennessee climate. No need for it. I ACTUALLY WENT OVER ON MILES last time by 500. I ran the oil for 5500 miles, which is unheard of for me personally. It had only used 1.75 quarts, which is really good.

You go every 5,000?

I go every 3k. Pushing 190k soon and don't want to chance it.

Guess I abuse the heck outta mine, 218 K and I don't have an oil change schedule. Used to change it every 3 K with 5w20, then went to synthetic and started getting lazy. I think some oil changes have been over 15 K, I use a heavier weight now and change it around 7 to 10 K.

Thumbs up

My 2005 ram 5.7 has 332,253 miles, I've owned since 2006 and it had 28,000 when I bought it. Org engine, recalls fixed and only problem was the trans, gov and switch were bad.

Just sold my 2006 5.7 Mega Cab with 353,000 miles. Never any issues with engine or trans. Still ran and drove perfectly.
