2007 Hemi Quad: Reverse emits a strange sound
I've only had my truck a few weeks, and honestly I didn't notice the grinding\metallic vibration sound while in reverse prior to the installation of my Flowmaster exhaust, but I'm wondering if anyone else hears a slight grind or clanging metal sound while backing up in their 07?
Is there any way the exhaust piping is to blame?

The only stupid questions are the one never askeed.... but good point.. and i don't belive the new exhaust would be to blame... unless is it dragging/ rubbing... like Pirata said...
Nothing dragging as far as I can tell. I'll give it a better look when I get home tonight to be sure. It's a very muddled sound, but it's also one that definitely does not sound proper either. I'll probably stop by the place who installed it and have them take a look as well. I want them to double check the welds anyway to be sure there are no leaks.

Took a sebatical from the forums for a while. Stopped into the Meineke last weekend due to the rattling of the pipes getting worse and worse. Turns out the original installer used the supplied clamps in lieu of welding. Exhaust leaks all over the place!
The kid who worked on my setup fixed the piping proximity to the undercarriage issue, and welded up the pipes for me. All is right with the pipes and sounds a tad deeper in tone.
Time for another mod!
