Default Re gearing Question

Hello

I have a 2006 2WD 1500 Hemi with a 3.92 gear ratio and Limited slip differential. I recently installed a 6inch Fabtech lift kit with 35' tires on 20x10 rims. Is it necessary to re gear the truck and if so to what gear. I do not notice that much difference but don't want to put too much strain on the transmission. My gas mileage dropped about 3 MPG with the lift and tires which I expected. Would a different gear help my MPG while giving a noticeable difference in acceleration? I don't want to waste the money if it isn't really necessary. I know if I had the standard lower gear ratio it wouldn't be an option....just thought it might be with the 3.92.

Thanks in advance
Matt

Got any pics of the lift? I'm really anxious to see it on the '06 2wds. I've heard that eveybody swears by the 4.56 with that large of a wheel/tire combo. I've heard standard 3.55 or 3.92 is ok for tires up to like 33". After that, people said that their trucked seemed a little sluggish without stepping up.

I'm pretty sure thats what my neighbor down the street did on his 04.

35s with a 4.56, but no improvement on gas milage. [:@]

4.56 would help, but tell your gear installer that the 06's need the housing to be ground a little bit for the 4.56's to fit properly.

4.56 will help a lot with the acceleration and the mpg, about 1-2mpg.

All the 9.25 rears need a little grinding to get the pin in the rear with 4.56 gears. My 04 did.

We just ground 1.5 teeth down in the non contact area of the ring gear. Some grind the pin instead.

Unless there is something about the 06 housing being smaller that I am not aware of.
