Default RAM AIR HOOD

I'm looking at getting the APM ram-air hood. Any thoughts on any better hoods or on this one?

If I ever get a new hood I'd definitely consider this one. The picture is kind of small but the scoops look alot like the ones on the hood from a Trans Am the last few years they made them.

Most Ram air hoods are functional to a point. Meaning they will let the air in, but not where it needs to go. I have been reading on this and found that most hoods need additional modifications to route the air intake from the hood to the needed area for proper function. Meaning: more money out of pocket to add the Ram Air function to the engine or all your going to do is allow your engine to run a little cooler with the air running over top of it. Most just get the CAI from someone then will get the kit that mounts to the current hood just for looks. Much cheaper this way.

I will end up cutting out the "throat" but doubt I will ever make it a true ram air. It may push some cooler air into the bay, but I will rely on my K&N. I just want more of an aggressive look. carhoods.com 02-07 STS Hood
