New Truck & My System -- Thanks
As a few of you know, I've been asking alot of questions about the Ram stereo over the last few days. I have finally purchased my stereo and I should take delivery of my truck tonight or tommorow. Thanks for all of the stereo advice, I think that I've got a system that will be great for the $$. First, the Truck:
07 RAM QC SLT - Electric Blue
Hemi w/ Auto
Tow Package
ThunderRoad Package
Remote Start
Upgrades:
I've ordered the Stainless Steel Nerf bars from TREX Motorsports
Planned:
Flowmaster Delta 50 or maybe 50 SUV (I haven't decided.....I want a little rumble but want to be able to order through the drivethrough without turning the truck off and want the interior to still be comfortable on long trips)
Backup Camera
Spray in Bedliner (Line X / Rhino / Etc....I've got to see what I've got in my neck of the woods)
Overhead DVD for the back seats
STEREO
Keeping the stock H/U - High level output to RCA on the 6x9 lead
Phoenix Gold Octane R5 4 Channel Amp -- I'll run the 6x9s off of 2 channels (80w each) and bridge the sub off of the other 2 (250w) ($109)
Polk DB104 10" Sub - I picked this one because it will supposedly handle the 250 RMS I plan to send to it and I got it for 49.99 w/ free shipping
Polk DB 691 3 way speakers to go into the door. ($89)
SBOX Enclosure for the rear passenger seat ($50)
I will leave the stock 5 1/2 or upgrade to some cheap aftermarkets, kenwood maybe.
Oh yeah, the PG amp has a neon hookup and I was able to get an electric blue tube that plugs into it for like $15, so I though I'd put it in there somewhere.
So all in all, I'll have 350-400 after shipping invested....I'm quite happy with the paper specs for the price...the real test will happen in a couple of weeks.
Anyway, thanks for all of your help and suggestions. I plan to try to install the system myself next weekend after all of the stereo stuff arrives...I figure if I can't get it, I can resort to the shop...I've done the speaker / amp / sub install before, but taking out the H/U to wire up the output has me a little worried....we'll see. I'll post pics once I get the install done.

sounds like your going to have a nice system Doug!! Sounds like you thought it out well and spent wisely weed hopper! Are you going to leave the rear door speakers un powered? If so,just leave them un plugged, they will be drowned out by the fronts and will cause distortion. Just a suggestion... Power all 4 door speakers and get a mono amp for the sub. Theres plenty of room in your quad for two amps. I have 2 ampsin my single cab. On the same token, buy rear door speakers that closely match the front so power will be distributed evenly. I am using Infinity Cappa 6x9 in the front and Infinity Cappa 5x7 in the rear powered by an Infinity 7541A 111 watt rms x4 amp. Good Luck on the install Doug, keep us posted!

Thanks for the suggestion about leaving the rear unplugged. One thing that I really liked about this system is that it is really versitile. I may want to add good speakers and another amp later if it needs it, which I think would be easily done by using the PG to run the speakers and then buy a mono amp for the subs...Thanks for the kind words...Ill post pics once I get the truck and get the system installed.
I'm also lurking to see how to install a backup camera...that's probably my next project depending on how this one goes.
