Check Engine Light question
yeah i don't trust them either. i have the extended warrantytoo and won't take it in unlessi'm absolutely sol. if you think you exhaused every possibility, then just take it in.
0456 is the smallest gas leak and has only recently even been developed. I have the same issue on my 2003 Dodge Ram and was basically told by the dealership that most cars over 10years old would have their check engine light on if they detected amounts that small on older cars.
mine is in the dealer right now for that its getting a new evap pump and purge solnoid mine too use to come on and i would reset it. the first time the tranny was overhaulded i told them about it and they said it was the gas cap but it came back. the service guy said on every cold start the pump should come on and after a while the purge valve should vent out. mine too is an03 4x4 qc and i got tired of every one telling me when they got into my truck i had a check engine light on so sat when the wiring harness in the column melted i told them to "take there time and just fix it!" it always seems like they try to get you in and out so fast they over look or take short cuts.
Just wondering if you have any mods on your truck? and if so did the dealer ask you any questions about it, is your warrant going to cover it? Its also funny you should say that about the cold start mine kinda hesitates a little on a cold start like its going to turn off but it only does it for like a minute or so. I do Have the extended warranty through dodge im getting really close to just taking it in. I added the CAI and the catback to make the truck better and im very happy with the results but i really need to take care of this. You know what i mean.
