Default Question on troubleshooting

Looking for some assistance, I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 4.6 engine. I was recently driving home and the truck litterally just shut down. Gages all seem fine, and no idiot lights to help troubleshoot the issue. The battery seems to be charged well and continues to turn the engine over, the fuel pump does seem to be engaging and seems to be isolated to fuel or electric. Hoping someone can point me in the right direction as to what could possibly be the issue (experiance or mechanic who has seen something like this before).

First off your problem might be you have a non existant engine in your truck. You seem to be a liter short, lol. It is a 4.7 not a 4.6 but other than that I dont have the slightest idea.

Something you may want to try before you get too far along trying to figure it out. You may have a loosening or corroding connection at the PCM block connector. Disconnect the batteryand discharge the entire electrical system by turning on the headlamps After you disconnect the battery. Then pull the connector plug to the PCM. It is located on the passenger side of the firewall. I have heard of your problem here on the forum before, and it turned out to be the connector was corroding. If you have some silicone grease around, it's good to pack the connector block with this into the wire terminals before you reinstall it

If your engine is still turning over but not firing, you may have blown your injector fuse or it may have a loose connection. Check your owner's manual to see which fuse it is and check it. It should be not blown and should fit in the terminals snugly. I don't know about the PCM connection thing, but if that's the fix, then use dielectric grease rather than silicone grease as it has better electrical properties and will still keep the moisture out.
