Trying to disable the MDS system on my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi and was told by the dealer ther is no way the system can be disabled. So with that I was wondering if anyone would know if the COMPUTER out of a 2006 Hemi truck would work in a 2007 Hemi truck.

 

2006 has MDS also.

 

That sucks.....Maybea 2005 would work? Same engine and transmission as the 07......

 

Does the 2005 us CAN-Bus? If not then it won't work. There has to be a way to turn it off as the computer does control it. Someone will figure it out I'm sure.

 

I don't know about the computer, but if I remember correctly you can get teh 6.1 cam kit and that will eradicate the mds system

try contacting some aftermarket cam companies like comp cams and krc performance. MDS engines have a specific cam, and I'm sure these companies have explored ways to eliminate MDS so that more extreme cams can be used in the newer hemis.
