Default 4.7L temp question

You guys/gals with the 4.7s where is your temp gauge sitting at in 90 degree weather? I have the 180 t-stat and mine sits at 11:30. I dont think this right with a 180.

i believe your stat is stuck open if it still sits at the bottom. my 05 4.7 dak has the 180 and it sits just below the 1/2 way line all day even in 110 degree heat. if your stat is not working then the truck is still in open loop. which is going to cause major loss in gas mileage. its and easy fix

Thanks for the reply back . I recently flushed out the radiator, changed the hoses and radiator cap and also changed the tstat to a 180. I am thinking now it could be the radiator(maybe clogged). Before I changed out to a 180 I had the stocker stat and my truck would run 3/4's up.

In my 03' 4.7L, i am running all of the stock setup and i am running around midway (and that's running the truck all day in 100 degree weather)

Am I missing the question? You have a 180* stat and the gauge is not quite pointing north. You want it to run how much cooler?

I was just seeing if my truck should be running cooler than what it is with the 180. The 180 in my truck points at 11:30 which is too hot for that tstat rating, it should be pointing about 10:00-10:30...Truck was taken to the dealer today and my radiator is clogged, I have noticed that some parts on the radiator is hotter than others.
