Default Electrical Question - Trailer lights

Hey guys...I have a problem with my factory installed wiring harness for my trailer lights. Lets see if I can explain this without confusing you (or myself).

My right side blinker and break light on the trailer are not working. Everything else works fine. The trailer works fine when connected to another vehicle. I traced the problem to the actual wire (white w/pink) on my wiring harness (the one that feeds the right blinker/break light). It does not get energized when I put the right blinker on, step on the breaks, or put my hazards on. I tested my fathers truck to make sure I'm thinking correctly and his checks out. The four wire trailer connector is pretty simple (one ground, one for running lights, and two going to each side for blinkers/breaks). I tested the wire that is not getting energized from the harness connection in the rear of the truck to the front of the truck where it disappears into a very large wiring harness - IT DOES HAVE CONTENUITY.
So why isn't this wire getting energized? A fuse (I checked all of them)...?
Is it broken somehwere in the front of the truck? I know its a vague question...I'm just hoping someone ran into soething similar in the past.

The only hope I have going is my LEFT front blinker bulb is blown. I don't think this has anything to do with my trailer lights but hey...who knows.
Any suggestions?
THANKS SO MUCH!

Sorry, I am no help here.if your truck is still under warruntee then take it in. the only time I messed with a trailer I had wired everything myself (old truck) by splicing into tailight wires. I have to and should check my rams wiring.

Don't splice it into your truck light wiring, that will cause even more problems with the lamp out circuitry, plus your blinker would screw up. By looking at the wiring schematics it seems to be in the IPM, which sucks. If it's not the fuse, hard to trouble-shoot when the relays are internal to the IPM.

The factory tow package uses relays to separate the trailer harness from the vehicle's lighting. I'd hate to bypass all of that technology just because you don't want the dealer techs to look at it.

Try grabbing the service manual (you didn't mention what year truck) from hemitruckclub.com It'll spell out everything you need to troubleshoot the rest of the connection. You've done the hard part already!

I would hate to splice into the truck wiring also. I don't like bypassing the problem. I'll definitely check out the manuals. Thanks, that info helps a lot!

I didn't mean to come off wrong...its not that I don't want the techs to look at it, I'm just a bit low on cash.
I'll check out the service manual and see if I can trouble shoot any further. Thanks so much!
Oh, and its a 2003 1500 4x4.
