I saw a tailgate lock for our trucks on ebay it has a key an everything!

Just do a search on there it should come up

A friend of mine has a hard tonneau that overlaps the tailgate slightly, which prevents the tail gate from opening when the cover is closed. The tonneau locks, but I'm sure something could be broken or forced to get them in if they really wanted. Ithink a locking tailgate should be standard. My Avalanche had it and it comes in very handy.

My topper does the same thing. I am not worried about the lock on the tailgate, because if someone wants in, they can now break the glass. I just worry about the truck as a whole.
