Mine does this too (non-Hemi). It also occasionally does not engage reverse. I put it in R, and it just revs, no go. Then I'll shift to N and back to R, and into gear it goes.

This bugs me.

In refference to a post above,

DO NOT use words like broken or damaged in your complaint. These words denote non warrantable failures, caused by outside influence. IE, you pushed on the cupholder too hard, and broke it. That's not warranty. BUT, if you opened the cupholder normally and it "came apart", that's not your fault.

Just please don't use 'Broken' or 'Damaged'.

I'm a ASE Master Tech who works fora dealership, believe me on this one.

Mine sometimes makes a sound when putting it in reverse and forward also when it makes that sound it sometimes doesn't go into reverse right away and the engine revs. The sound I hear is the same sound that the truck makes if you stop the truck and put it in neutral and turn the selector switch to 4 wheel high.

I have the same proble even though you just have to tape it back into reverse and its fixed it self, nothing real big. However I did take it to my dealer and the sevice manager said there is no recall or and reason why that should be happening. Unfortunatly it dosnt happen all the time and I would have had to leave it with them and have them drive it all over who knows where. Now I asked the mechanic when I had a chance and he explained to try and put it in reverse when you are at a complete idol, don't just stop and put it in reverse. I'm not talking when you reving and going into reverse wait untill the idol is normal then engage. This seems to work untill you don't pay attention again, lol. It is however a stupid pain and should be looked into.

P.S. If someone was able to get this problem seviced anywhere please let use now so we know whats up atleaset.

Joining the party.. I too have this issue and combined with putting it in R and then having it seemingly slip out- not in N just the selector disappear. Then just put it back In R and away she goes. Mine also sounds rough not just the MDS its an 07 w/ 8k on it.
