Custom exhaust worth it?
I just bought an 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 Megacab with a hemi. I am contemplating putting a new custom exhaust on it. Just wondering if it is worth it. Now, I put a 5th wheel (7400 lbs) with this truck and I'm not interested in the "sound" the new exhaust would make. If it sounds better, that is a bonus but not the reason why I would buy a new exhaust. Here's what matters to me ...
1. Does it give me more NOTICEABLE horsepower?
2. Will it give the truck more NOTICEABLE torque?
3. Will I get better gas mileage?
Hoping some of you with prior expertise can help.

As for exhaust do it later, but remember more in - more out. So intake and exhaust go hand in hand.
Personally Id say no to all your questions.Dont think you'll put on an exhaust, get in and go "Man what a difference"!!Its not like that.I order to get what you want you need to to a combo of things.Like Pappy said, you can flash your chip, get a CAI and the exhaust. Then you'll be able to answer yes to your questions.Keep in mind though these will will cost you a few bucks!!
1. Not really. Perhaps a slight increase at the very top of the rpm band.
2. See 1.
3. No.
Honestly - it's all about the noise. There are some flowmaster kits that actually reduce torque. (I'm sure I'll get an earfull of that one)
So - if you like a nice quiet truck - leave it the hell alone. If you want noise (as many here do) then go crazy. I have the magnaflow 14589 with the stock resonator. That's about the smallest step you can take from stock. No change, but I do like the sound.
