spark plugs and wires
My 2003 5.7 hemi has about 70,000 miles and I want to tune it up a bit because I dont think it is giving its whole potential. What are some good sparkplugs and spark plug wires to change out with. Also what else can I do on a budget to get it back to par. Thanks.

use the stock copper plugs. unless your boosted or on juice stick to the coppers. they are less than 2 bucks a piece and with 16 of them THATS A GOOD THING
. upgrade those wires to some taylor 8.2, insulator that is thicker is not supposed to be of any benefit. i like my shorties however but they will dock ya 2whp lol. i felt a lot better throttle respoonse though and for the price you cant go wrong. on a side note juice and poweradders DO NOT go well with the shorties fyi so keep that in mind if you have plans to throw down some serious power frrom some added "help"

"spark plugs and wires " what are those??????
just messin with ya!!
each plug "grade" has a different temp rating. hotter, more efficient but may harm aluminum engine parts with excessive heat.
go with a heavier core wire set for better ignition out put.
good luck!

Is it really neccessary to change out the spark plug wires or not? The truck has about 70000 miles on it and I am debating wether or not to change the wires.

I agree with wishbone.. no need to change them unless you are having issues from them. I would definately change the plugs but unless the wires are damaged or not conducting correctly I would just let them be...
