RE: Drum Roll Please...180 T-Stat Install.....
nice seems simple the way you posted it.
jus curious what does this do to performance? does it just help with the temp? prolly a stupid question but oh well lol. |
RE: Drum Roll Please...180 T-Stat Install.....
Ok....
After I got it installed I had to drive 12 minutes in Stop and Go traffic before I could stop and do a quick check on the Coolant Overflow tank. During this time the Temp got up to its old normal setting once, about 10 minutes in to the drive. The two minutes left before I got to a stopping point the Temp had dropped, I rekon this was the first time the new T-Stat had opened. When I finally did stop, I checked the Coolant Overflow tank and it was still high. This worried me. I got to do a little Highway driving after that 55 to 60 MPH for about 20 minutes. The Temp stayed at the New setting the whole time. Once I got back into the neighborhood the temp started to rise a little, but never got anywhere close to the old Stock setting. Back in the drive way I checked the Coolant Overflow tank again and it had Not Changed. So I waited for the Truck to cool off and transferred the coolant from the Overflow back to the Radiator. I had to add about 8 ounces of Distilled Water to top it off. I’m really not teasing you guys I just haven’t had time to go give her a thorough Unbiased Independent Scientific Test hehe.;) Hopefully today I can get her on the road and run it a little harder and longer. P.S. Our local law enforcement is out thick in preparation for the 4thbecause people have been shootin off Fireworks for two or three days already. So I might not get a chance to run her to awful hard. |
