My understanding is that the cooler temp tricks the computer into thinking the engine is still warming up and gives you a richer fuel mixture. Should result in a little more power and a little less mpg.

well i was looking at my thermostat while flushing the cooling system... looks like my stant t-stat is 63mm already so i wont need to shave it down. what part number did you use go49ers?

Advance auto parts 14168 and it said it was 64mm engraved on the t-stant itself

Wouldn't a "rich" mixture use more fuel? I own Nitro powered RC trucks and if I run my RC Truck rich it will suck down fuel.

mine was 29178 i believe, it had 63mm engraved right on it, fit in like a champ too

Yep, exactly. First I heard of cooler thermostats installs was as part of a turbo/supercharger mod. The thermostat was added tohelp you get more fuel to maximize the increased airflow of the turbo.

hahahaha i have his posts blocked, all he does is post some useless crap from some other site. 90% of it i can go find waaayyy more facts to support against what he posts. I think he has nothing better to do.
