Default new truck!!!

I have recently picked me up a 2002 Ram 1500 quad cab with the 5.9L. It has the factory 20" wheels. My question deals with tires. I do not want to lift this truck at all since it will see 99.9% road time but I do want a decent all terrain tire. I am really intereseted in the nitto terra grappler. If I understand correctly, the 305/50R20 is going to be my best bet. Is this tire size going to fit with any major rubbing issues? Any tire suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks ahead.

Congrats on the new truck. Do a google search or something for the conversion chart, I have seen it before but don't remember what site it was on.

35" tires will not fit unless you level out the front end. You have to stick with a 33" or smaller with no mods. You'd be looking at a 305/55/20

well that is a good thing to know. Would there be a quick way to find out how a decent all terrain tire in that particular size would look on a bone stock truck? Pics would be great, but any first hand opinions would be great.

right now the truck has 275/60R20 on it. It measures out to be right at 33" tall. I do believe if I crank the torsion bars up 1-1/2 inches a 35" tire will go nicely up under the truck. Another concern that I have is fuel mileage. Will my truck take a significant hit in fuel mileage with the bigger tires?

Possible that the tires will effect your mpg. Usually, the bigger, more aggressive A/T's will have a higher "rolling-resistence", knocking your mileage down. Then again, slightly taller tires will lower the rpm for a given speed but at a slight loss of power. I doubt you'll notice it much with that engine anyway. I'd stick to the stock size or the 305/55, but with those wider tires, standby for the water and crud to get sprayed down the side of your truck constantly.
