Default Cruise control not working

The last couple of months my cruise control has been acting strange, I can set it at any speed i want but as soon as I have to increase the speed or resume it shuts off the cruise control. The only way to get it running again is to shut my truck off then turn it back on or if I'm using the cruise control and have to slow down orreset my speed I have press the on/off button firstthen start from scratch. Any body else have this problem?

I'd take it to the dealer. Sounds like a computer glitch.

I have an 04 2500 Diesel with the same problem, it seems the faster you set it for the sooner it quits. It won't work again until you restart the truck but then it only works for a second or two. But if you stop the truck and put it in park, let off the brake pedal and set the cruise the automatic idle still works just fine. I don't want to take it to the dealer because the first thing they want to do is that BS out of park alarm recall. There is no TSB's but alot of people have the same problem. Please somebody have any clues

Yeah mines the same, I turn around three times, count to four, wind down the rear left passenger window then engage the 4x4 then did I mention the turn around three times anti clockwise......................................... .........nah, just playing with ya.

You got to admit, it's a little strange that you had to do all this stuff to get it to work LOL.[sm=happybounce.gif]
How on earth did you guys discover how to do all this beats me?[sm=confused06.gif]

Sorry can't help but it does smack of a computer gremlin.
