Right now I have a bone stock 02 1500 and I would like to put some type of exhaust on her. I am looking for more of a deep tone rather than a loud(decibel wise) exhaust. I am very new to the gas truck scene so any information would be great. By the way, I did try the search button and I have been having trouble finding info about the 5.9L motor. Great website by the way. It has helped me with my truck and my brother and his 1988 W100.

 

flowmaster 50 series single in single out.

replace the stock muffler, keep resonators on, you will get a nice deep rumble, but not to loud.

 

How much of a difference would I find with just swapping out the mufflers? Would it be enough to constitute the price?

 

it will make a diffrence.

look at the size of your muffler right now, it's like a damn 5 gal. bucket under there.

i'd say swap it out for the 40 or 50 series, it will be worth the money.

theres some people on here that have done it. they will chime in i'm sure.

i've got the 40 series, dual, with only one resonator.. but probably to loud for what you want..

I have an 03 with the 5.9 and i love the 40 series flowmaster i have. Single in dual out. 50 series is a bit quieter though.

 

Since I have the 5.9L motor, would I still get a deep aggressive sound out of the 40 series muffler? I have also looked into the new 44 series muffler. Does anybody have any experiences with this muffler?
