Default Weld-in vs System

Hey all, I was looking around for an exhaust for my truck and I was wondering in terms of sound, will just a weld in muffler sound anywhere near as good as a whole new exhaust system? Eventually I will be getting a whole system, but as of now I don't have the money so I'm looking for something to hold me over in terms of sound. I was thinking of getting a Flowmaster Super 40 muffler, does anyone have any other recommendations for a louder/deeper muffler? I have a 2007 Ram 1500 with the Hemi.

I have a cat back system on mine but i know plenty of guys on here that have just cut the stock muffler out and put a 40 in and they seem to love it. The sound will be loud as you want it.

yes a weld in can sound just as good a whole system. only dif is, your pipes are not pre fabricated. i just bought a borla muffler and corsa tips and took out 1 of my 2 resonators. it sounds great, i didnt want it rediculously loud, just a nice rumble..if i want it louder, later i can take out the front reso. i did have my pipes from the front reso back replaced with aluminized (cant get stainless down here, no demand so if i wanted it price would be outrageous, i looked into it...plus since there is no demand for it, noone has machines bend it).

here is a sound clip i actually took today...quality (video and audio) isnt great, i did it with my phone...fyi, i only rev'd it to about 4k

it depends how you want it set up, if you buy your muffler/tips from the shop, if you want new pipes used and bent instead of our stock pipes ect....if you walk into the shop with your muffler/tips in your hand and say weld this on and use new pipes, depending on if you ask for single or duel pipes, it should be from around 100-150. but thats with purchasing your muffler/tips seperate.
