Default Lookin at a 3rd gen tomora!

Whats up fellas?
I am going to look at a 3rd gen tomora to upgrade from my 96 ram 1500
Its an 04 ram 2500 4x4 with a 5.7 Hemi
it has close to 75k on the clock

how many miles do most of you guys have?
what common problems do these trucks have?
what should i look for out of the ordinary tomora?

I am good with a wrench but i plan on modifying this truck and keeping it for a long time so any suggestions would be great thanks!!

Price seems a little high for the mileage. Doesn't even have power windows. As far as problems goes, depends on how well the previous person took care of it. Everyone around here has had various different problems, but the most common one is the seats from what I read the most about. The seats tends to lose there form pretty bad after many miles of driving. Back to the price though. Before I bought my '06 I was looking at several '04 and '05 quad cabs with less than 50k miles for around $17k. Yes they had the hemi and power options... Granted I live in Florida and these trucks are dime a dozen but make sure that it has everything you want in the ride.

You guys are noticing that it's a 2500, right? Admittedly I don't know how that affects the price when it's not a CTD but it's got to do something.

I paid considerably more for my 03 1500 just a month ago, though it does have 50k miles and the Laramie pkg.

That is ALOT of miles for a vehicle made in 2004. I generally try to go 15,000 miles for ever year and that's where it should be. Also, being a 2500, I'm sure those are hard miles towing things. There are much better deals out there than that. Keep looking and a better truck will show up.

It would pay to look over the TSB's for that year
so that they would be in the back of your mind
as you look the truck over carefully

Running a Carfax record to see if the vehicle
might have been flooded
is worth doing as the last possible thing before spending the money.

The truck is not a CTD which for me, would be a deal breaker for a 3/4 ton or bigger, I be concerned about the high mileage on the truck. I bet you can find 03's and 04's for much less with way less mileage for the same priceand possibly find some 05's with about 30k miles for 2-3grand more.
My sugestion would be to look some more and you may find something else out there. You alredy have a nice truck, you have the luxury to be picky and take your time..
