07 Ram w/5.9L oil???
My ordered out 2007 Ram w/5.9L Hemi arrived in Feb. I ran it about 2000 miles and did my first oil change. I went with Mobil1 extended life 10W-30. I now have about 5,600 miles on it and have had the check engine light come on twice. Both times the code came up for the oil pressure sensor. They replaced the sensor and it came on again a day later. The dealer is telling me that because I am running 10w-30 oil, not the recommend 5w-20 oil, that could be causing the issue. Has anyone heard of that or had a similar experience???
Thanks,
Thanks,
That sounds weird. Did they say if it was low or high pressure. The higher viscosity could explain a high pressure light. As for the lower viscocity, it is recommended to stay at the manf. recommendations. Engines today have so tight of clearances, too thick could possible limits some areas from proper lubrication. I would definatily go back to the 5 w 20 to be safe.
