I got curious as to why nissan boast being faster to 60 than a hemi. After doing a bit of research i discovered how the nisan was able to nick the hemi by a few tenths of a second. The test was botched. the hemi ran on 20's while the titan cruised on its standard 16's or 17's. cant remember what size. What are you quad cab 4 x4 drivers with 17's getting to 60? better than 7.6?

 

A couple of months ago someone in a Titan, King Cab, short bed,4X2 decided to challenge me. We were side by side until we hit about 50 m.p.h. He ever so slightly started to inch away from me.
Keep in mind I was in a 3/4 ton, Quad Cab, 4X4, with 33" tires. My only modification...a Magnaflow muffler.

 

aha i'd love to see the titan even touch us when matched up evenly.

 

Ive tried to race da Titan around town, but no one wants to race me.I think they are a bit intimidated by the Hemi.(always look at the Hemi5.7 Emblem) Im not saying my truck is faster but havent raced them yet.

 

titans are warm ups on the way to the strip....its fun to slow down and pass them again!

 

I have run a few Titans, I have the stock 20" and I have a quad cab 4X4 also. But what they dont know is I also have a K&N CAI and I also have the Flash Paq along with my MaganFlows. I play around with them for a bit but I always take them in the end. Only ones I have any trouble with are the ones that are 2wd and have had a little done work done to them.

 

I have an 04 quad cab with a hemi (on srt-10 20's), andbeat my cousin 06 titan 5.6 quad cab on 17's. Only mods I have is flowmaster super 40 cat back kit. It was some what close, but the hemi still came out on top.We are both 4x2.I amawaiting a challenge from the new tundra or what ever toyotas new"speed machine" is. :O)

 

I lurk on a titan forum and there are a few cool guys that can hang. One ran a 14.6 before he got his pcm tuned and the other ran a 14.2 before reworking his headers and exhaust. However, those guys for the most part are totally dilusional. I keep my mouth shut normally as it is their website but some of those guys are hilarious. I have called many guys in my area out and only 1 would race me. 2 of them raced each other and went 16.1 and 16.2 both with exhaust and intake while being 4x2 extended cab. The one I raced went 15.4 with exhaust only and he has the big titan and is 4x4 so I don't know what's up with that. I however went 15.0 with a weld in muffler and a crappy volant intake. I have since gotten a much better intake and reworked my exhaust.

Oh yeah, we are at 2200ft elevation so those times can be shaved by 4 tenths and that is our times at sea level. So, I actually went 14.6 at sea level. Hmm looks like the hemi is victorious.

 

When I was a kid, I drove a Buick Century, jet black, with cragars, it was sharp, and looked fast as hell. I'd have people pull up to me every night of the week wanting to run, and I didn't run anyone ( I knew better, that'd I'd loose) but hell, i didn't have to run. It looked great, I always had a beautiful woman sitting by my side, and I was saving the rubber on my tires and saving gas.

Now I'm all grow'd up, and I'm driving in my 07 QC Hemi, and it is sharp, and it looks and is fast as hell. I still have people pulling up to me every night of the week wanting to run, and I don't run anyone, I don't have to. It looks great, there's still a beautiful woman sitting by my side, and the only difference between then and now is...I have that Hemi Badge on the side that they all look at, glance at, try hard not to look at, but they do, and I just roll on my way...

I'm not rich, but i could have picked any truck out there I wanted, and pound for pound, I choose this one, for the looks, performance, the whole nine yards, it's the total package.
As for riding in any truck with a foreign name....Nissan, Toyota...I just can't relate and wouldn't do it, not that they aren't nice trucks, it's just a blue collar pickup truck thing I guess, and there's something very American about my Missouri made Ram.

 

raced a titan 5.6 tonite. lit him up! not even a contest. it was a 4x2 extended cab on 17's. he was like what the heck? the ads on tv said i was faster. lol.
