We are home, had a lot o fun!

On the way back traffic wasn't as good, Troopers were out pretty thick just south of Daytona. Might have been an accident, had a good spell of slowed to a crawl traffic.

I only got 20 MPG on the way back.Still very cool in my book.

Now remember guys I have an MDS Hemi.

Oh yeah almost forgot...just for info...My overhead neverexceeded 18.9 MPG…When I remembered to check it hehe.

One more thing, I really kept my foot out of the throttle. It was hard to do but I fought the urge.
The posted speed is 70 on that part of I-95, other than slowing down for traffic I pretty much kept a steady 70 to 75 on the way back.

Cpukramer... I had a Dakota with the 4.7 and ran the stage 2 jet chip, gibson dual rear, K&N CAI and the thermostat... I want to say Jet mandated the use of the 180 thermostat. Very easy mod, doesn't take long. Jet, amongst others, carry the lower temp thermostat. And the chip had a decent tune, knowing that you are upset there are no programmers out there for your rig. The stage 2 requires 91 octane.

I am definitly interested in the Jet chip ... how much was it and where did you get it? Did you see a decent improvement of performance?

CpuKramer-
I got the Jet chip and the thermostat through Performance Products, here is your chip:

http://www.performanceproducts4truck...amp;pid=103645

Also found it through Stylin Concepts:

http://www.stylintrucks.com/parts.as.../categoryid/28

The thermostat I did buy throughPerformance Productsand couldn't find one marked for the 4.7. I have no idea if they made a differant 4.7 for the dakota andone for the 1500, I think it would be a waste of engineering to do so. Sothe dakota thermostatMAY fit.Of course I can't find it now.

Pappy... where did you see the slant 180... I looked on a couple sites but they didn't say slant or anything like that. I am kinda too lazy (1/3 bottle o' Jack) and didn't really see it posted elsewhere. Sorry to be a pain in the ****...

Sorry bro I can't remember. It was on a 300C forum is all I can member as I have been in the Peach Schnapps.

The Jet is the only Stainless Steel one I have come across, me thinks. Ever since the first time it opened at the old operating temp it has never got up that high again. I love that.

Before the Caveman hater flies in here and tries to poop on this thread...as he did in the 2nd Gen 180 t-stat thread.

An old beer drinking shade tree mechanic once told me: Son the differance between running rich vs lean is when you run rich you mightlose spark plugs, when ya run lean you willlose yer Heads. So I can deal with that.

Thefunny thing is this has me rethinking gettin a CIA heh! Damnit...

However for those of you with CIA and Dual Exhaust or Long Tube Headers you are gonna like the 180.

This is not directed at anyone in "par tickle her"....Ifyou are really parinoid about rich or lean get an ARC1
