Default 2nd Owner Limited Powertrain Warranty

I have the option of purchasing the limited powertrain warranty for my '05 Ram 1500 QC 4x4 for a $150.00 fee. As the basic warranty will expire in April of '08 and there is only 21K on the odo, it sounds like a no-brainer to me.

How-ever.....thereare absolutely no maintenance records that came with the vehicle, and the local Dodge dealer ran a 24 month Service History and they drew a blank. Of course, my concern is that I'll spend $150.00, blow out the tranny or engine at 46K and 48 months and DaimlerChrysler will deny the repair as there are no records of oil changes, transmission service, etc from the day it left the lot until I bought it.

Any of you run into the same situation? I did a search and found nothing even remotely close to this topic.

Yea....I agree. Start fresh and begin your own record keeping.

I have never known a dealer to demand paperwork for maintenance going all the way back to the time of purchase.

Ok, you guys talked me into it. It was a lease vehicle (hence the low miles) and it appears to be well-taken care of. Other than oil changes, it looks like all that would have needed servicing is the front/rear axles.

I'll stop by tomorrow and pony up the $150.00.
