Default new stereo

I was wondering if anyone could tell me if you could still use the stereo controlls on the back of the steering wheel after you install a new aftermarket stereo?

Thanks,
Kevin

Those PAC modules have gotten some bad reviews. If your aftermarket radio doesn't support a wired remote, then chances are it won't work. If it does work, I've heard that you have to reprogram them quite often. I'll stick with my IR remote that came with my unit.

Your best bet is to use an adaptor from line out to RCA jacks and keep the stock head unit, thats what I did in the ol'ladys Stratus

I use a PAC adapter for my Kenwood stereo and I works just fine in my 04 ram. The bonus is that you can program the steering wheel buttons however you like e.g. the volume on the left instead of the right. http://www.autotoys.com/x/cust/produ...?productid=597 is the pac adapter that I used.
