Chrome 3 or 3.5" exhaust tip?

I kinda like the way my truck sounds with the stock muff ler on it. Has anyone changed just the rear part of the tailpipe and put a 3" or larger chrome exhaust pipe on? If so, did that change the sound any? I have only 12,8XX miles on my truck, and the tailpipe looks like s... ! I can paint it black with BBQ grill paint, but would rather have a chrome tip. But I do not want one of those goofy looking bolt on jobs. I want to weld mine on so it will look right.

I really like the stock sound on the V6 too. I think you will keep the sound as long as you chop off past the resonater which is fairly small but you can see it if you look through the passenger side rear wheel well. As long as that stays it really shouldn't matter what kind of tail pipe you put on the end.

Yeah mine does straight from the factory. Look in wheel well on the passenger side. If you have one it will be there. I will take a picture when I get back home this weekend.
