they both use the 2500 frame. They dont make a mega cab on the 1500 frame

they used the 2500 long bed frame, shortened the bed to 6'3", took that space from the bed and added it to the cab.

Is the 1500 Mega Cab also available with the 4.10 gears? If not, the GCWR difference between the two trucks is likely a result of the 1500 being equipped with 3.73 gears and the 2500 being equipped with 4.10 gears. I know that even on Regular Cab 2500's, the GCWR is slightly higher when equipped with 4.10 gears as opposed to 3.73 gears.

The 1500 MegaCab was available with 4.10s. I don't think you can get a 1500 MC anymore though, I think 08 was the last year.
