4x4 vs 4x2
I was wondering if people wit 4x2 are really getting better gas milage. I understand when you buy a truck you might as well exspect to pay for gas. That is not a problem. I was just wondering how much better 4x2 were actually getting.
I am unsure about the gassers. . .however I do know with the diesels the 2wd trucks usualy get about 2-3mpg better than the 4wd guys. . .on average now.
the IFS of the 1500 is just like the 2/3500 solid axel in that it is a live axel and spinning at all times. the vehicle is having to 'push' that axel which lowers fuel economy. I know there are some kits out there to unlock the front hubs and people have said they see an increase in fuel mileage.

I would think the gassers would have the same results.. lighter running gear, lower profile in the front.
I do know that the east coast CTD's get better mileage than the west coast CTD's [sm=boohoo.gif] lol
