hi ! i was thinking about doing a mod to my exhaust system to make my truck sounds more like a muscle car, than a dodge magnum. So i was thinking about taking off one of the two can underneath the truck. so those are my question ?

1) Are the 2 cans are both muffler, or the smaller one is only a resonator ?

2) wich one of the 2 do i need to take off to get the best sound.

3) Here in Nova Scotia, Canada, vehicules on the road need to pass a MVI safety inspection every year, do you think taking one of the 2 can of will fail my truck, or it won't sound execivelly loud ?

Hello fellow nova scotian. I have a 98 360 -1500. The muffler just gave out after 91/2 years. The original muffler was 37 in. I've installed a s/s magnaflow muffler that I bought from Canadian Tire down in Bridgewater that was on the shelf.
It really sounds like a muscle car, I don't know what the Hemi would sound like with the same unit.

 

The really big oval object in your exhaust system is your muffler, the two smaller ones (one before muffler, one after) are your resonators.

 

if i just take off both resonnators, am i gonna heard a big difference in sound ?
