When I ask around about this I get different answers, some say there truck will drive fine and others say that it will have issues. I want to lift my truck about 6 " and put 35's on it pretty much because I think it would look badass. So, is putting a 6" lift and putting 35's onto a 2007 dodge ram 1500 2wd v8 (4.7)to much for the the truck to handle??

What v8 do you have? If you only have the 4.7l then a gear change would be required. They look good and if you dont get one cheap then they handle and perfom well. Depending on what size rims you are getting you may want to jump to 37's.

If you have the 275/60/20's to start with, going to a 35" tire is only 2"taller. Shouldn't be that big of a deal. I had a 01 ram and put a 5" lift w/ 35" tires on it. That was a 6" gain on the tires and I drove that for 2yrs w/o any problems. Just a little bit of a power loss.

6" w/ 35's would be the MAX I think you should go.I won't even go to 37's on my 1500 series 4x4, as I think 35's are the largest my IFS could handle without issues. I agree that your performance will go bye, bye and that 4.56 gears would be in order to fix that, a good LSD would be a wise choice at that time too.
Keep in mind that a 4" suspension lift would also easily clear those 35's and give you a bit better handling than going 6".A 3" body lift would also do it, a lot cheaper, but would give a little harsher ride than a suspension lift, but with you having a 4x2, I don't see you really slamming it around off road.
Just some alternatives to consider.

I have a 2006 Laramie 4x2 and I put a 6inch Fabtech lift on with 35" tires. I Like it and have no complaints nor regrets. HOWEVER know that changing up to a 4.56 gear is a must my 3.92s didnt cut it at all. 4.56 are a little quicker of the line then stock 3.92s with 20s
