Those rust shots make the truck look twenty years old. I lived in New England and never had that on my ram. Red

looks to me as though the truck spent a lot of its life backing in and out of water...salt water maybe. find out if the guy was a fisherman may be the answer you are looking for

If all 3 on the lot looked like that, it may be they came from the same place. Maybe even another dealer whose lot flooded, orthe same business has them that used them the same way, or something like that. Who knows, but again, if you really like the truck, use it against the dealer (they'd do it to you), get the price down & make them make it right by you, or walk away...

I have an 05 1500 and it has zero (0) rust on it and i wash it maybe once every 6 months. I deal in construction in Floridaso it sees quite a bit of dirt, mud, rain, sand, seasalt ect.

I do know the salt they use on the snow will cause that on a lot of vehicles, but it does seem that much unusualy. IF you found 3 like that then many more will probabily be the same. I'd suggest if you don't like it to go south a little bit and buy one from another state and drive it back. and have it ziebart after you get it! www.ziebart.com I had it done to mine and i like it!

ORIGINAL: njramguy

Hey, totally new here - and looking to buy a RAM 1500 Sport in Northern NJ. After looking over 3 RAMS, I took a look under 1 to see how the step bar was bolted to the body. Thats when I saw the following pics. ALL 3 2005 RAMS looked like this underneath. Is this typical from the RAMMS to rust this fast? Any suggestions? I have a deposit down on it becuase everything else is perfect....

Thank you for anyone that give me advise before I buy this truck.......
Welcome, It Looks like a typical tri-state area winter salt abundance vehicle, maryland, delaware and NJ arethe worst for salt.
