Default electrical issues!!??!

I've been recently experiencing some electrical problems with my truck. It all began with a "lamp out" indicator light on my dash. I though it wasa rear brake light, but upon replacement of the bulb, there was no change. The following is a list of other odd problems that i've been having that I believe are related:

-speedometer stopped working
-abs indicator light (in-dash) remains on
-emergency brake light (in-dash) remains on
-dome lightisn't working
-left turn signal blinks very rapidly

Any similar experiences out there, or ideas...?? Any suggestions are appreciated.

A co-worker had some similiar problems going on with his truck he bought used last month. He left it at the shop and theycalled him and said "Hey did you know you have a water line all the way around your engine compartment?" He did some research and found out that it was a Katrina truck. He is not happy.

Have you installed anything on your truck, such as an alarm, remote starter, amp or new radio?

What year is your truck? model ST, SLT, Quad, Reg?

Also look for rust at the bolts holding the seat down, and look at the bolts under your dash around the brake pedal and under the passanger side. Look for eccesive dust/dirt in the fuse box, both inside and under the hood. If it was a flood truck, these are some particular spots allot of clean up shop's miss.
If it was under water, then it should have a salvage title. But I THINK some states (Such as Tennessee) do not have to report flood damage to vehicles. The vew this as a mechanical issue, just the same as a blown motor, and not a safty issue. (As would be if the vihicle had been severely wercked) Some states, I was told, wouls salvage a flood car only if it had ABS & Air bags. But that is just what my old man told me.

The only mods I've done on my truck are a new exhaust and intake, and I was also running a Jet Stage 1 programmer, that I have since removed. But, taking the jet chip out didn't do anything for the electrical problems.

P.S. My trucks an 03 single cab...I don't know what designation it is (SL, ST??), but its the basic model (i.e. no power windows, locks, etc.)

hi, i am going through almost the same thing with my truck. my headlights come on all by them selves when i start the truck. my speedometer or odometer do not work either.i just purchased a instrument cluster to see if that is where the problem is. the dealer wanted to charge me $900.00 plus for a wiring harness. i tried tocheck the codes and it would not work either.hopefully this works. will let you know tommorrow when it is put in.
