Default 2500 HD vs non dually 3500 series

Looking to purchasae a 2005 2500 HD longbed w/ 5.7 hemi v8, 5 speed Auto w/overdrive, plow package, tow package etc loaded.

My question is the 4 wheel drive u joints on the front hubs and the trans the same in the 2500 HD as in the regular non dually 3500 series?

I will be doing alot of plowing and salting and I'm concerened about the strength and wear and tear.
I don't want to be buying a new trans every 2 -3 seasons not to mention having it breakdown in the middle of a storm.
But what I'm hearing is that it's not much different. It's the upgrade to the 3500 dually that really makes the difference.

Thanks. I really appreciate the advice.
