Hey everyone Im new to the forum just wanted to introduce myself befor asking a ? I have 2003 1500 with the HEMI in it it has 100,000 and I have a ticking sound coming from the motor! It dosent happen all the time just sometimes when i start it up and also when you let off the gas what could it be is it the valves? And if anyone knows where i can get the parts to fix it thanks

Really? its kinda loud you can hear it from the cab in the mornings and then if you open the hood and rev it up then you can hear it should i be worried?

 

mine has been doing it since it was new from the factory. the original hemi did it to from what I was told

 

dont bother with it...you'll just be worrying about nothing...just go with it

 

Why is it called the "Hemi tick"?? My 05 4.7 had the same tick.... and i'm pretty sure it was'nt a Hemi....

 

my 4.7 has a tiny tick, my dads hemi has a tick also. its nothing to worry about, pretty much everyone here with a hemi has complained of it and no one has had any problems because of it that i can recall. if the tick is too loud and is bothering you then you can give youre truck to me! ill swap ya straight up.

or you could put exhaust on it to cover up the noise lol

 

my 06 has a slight tick, not bad at all, just when in idleing. and it's not to loud, but i haven't had any problems at all.

People have had some success quieting or eliminating it.

P.S. mine doesn't tick...yet

 

mine ticks but only really notice when in a drive thru or something like that with the windows down
