Is is a cummins? I thought 02 was the last year for the 5.9l gas engine.

 

yeah it was....they killed the 5.9 after 02

 

CARFAXvehicle history report. Says it's an 03 with a 5.9L. I couldn't believe it either. Did a Google search for 03 Ram 5.9L and it was an option along with the 4.7. 5.7 for the 1500...I dunno?

well they lying...only engines choices for a 1500 back then was the V6 3.7L (maybe it was the 3.9 cant remember for sure), 4.7 V8 and the 5.7L HEMI...(03 was first yr of hemi in the trucks, which is why they canned the 5.9)

i believe they stopped putting the 5.9 after 03. the 04 models started with out the 5.9 option

 

just picked up a 03 Ram 3500 HD Dually Regular Cab Laramie with 5.9L Cummings with 71000 miles for 20,000., I am new to Dodge I had a 1500 Chevy Silverado 5.3L Vortec Z71 Regular Cab

 

I paid 16,000 for a reg cab 2wd sport ram 1500 with hemi, lots of factory options, aftermarket tonno cover and running boards. It only had 19,100 miles and is immaculate except for a few paint chips from daily driving. I wouldn't pay more than $10 k for a 240 hp 4.7L, and to settle the gas 5.9L discussion, it was an available option just below the hemi for the first half of the 03 ram 1500's built. It only had 10 hp and 30 lbs torque more than the 4.7L and got 10mpg (lol)if you were lucky.
