4.56 GEAR NOISE
Every experienced gear installer I have ever asked has said the same thing, "If properly installed, aftermarket gears should make no noise whatsoever".
I can only speak for myself, but mine make no audible noise at all, at least nothing that I can hear over my exhaust.

It's in the pinnon I had a set of 4.56 stuck in my old truck they were in the rear end at least 10 times they never got in right I ended up trade it in for my Dodge truck I have now.
The pinnon song like a girl at prom night.
Putthe truck on jack stands with the front tire blocked. Put a steel rod or a socket extention on you'r rear end and have someone put the truck in gear and spin the rear end under power thats a easy way to pin point were the noise is comming from It sounds like Pinnon either bad preload or pinnon bearing could be ring and pinnon pattern but sounds pinnon bearing or preload.
Like I said my last truck went in at least 10 times they were glad I traded in there night mare truck.
If it is a bad gear set will the dealer replace them for you ?.

yea mine whines up with pressure on them and whines down at coast...and in between when I let off the pedal and energy transfers to coast I get a loud vibration...Im takin it in Monday to my gear guy to look at it...
i work at a dealer the gears are install perfect and perfect wear pattern numerous racers here tell me 4.56 gear are jsut a noisy gear i am just trying to find out if others have the same problem. i can live with the noise but my wife can't..
Maybe its the brand? My friend here put Yukon's 3.7* on his silverado and he hears a slight whine. Same thing, the mechanic told him its normal and to drive it for 1000 miles and it will go away. I doubt it.
Over the years I've had all kinds of gears up to 4.88's in a Baldwin Motion Camaro.
I only had a whine with my first set in my ram, had the installer follow the proper preload and backlash from the manual and now they are fine.
The 9.25 chrysler rear is different than any other rear and must be set up their way or the gears will whine.
