Default Trany problem.....advice?

Hey everyone,

This is my first post, but I have been reading this forum for a long time.

I recently have been having to add transmission fluid on a regular basis. The problem is, I do not see a leak anywhere. Is it possible the leak is so gradual that I never see a "puddle" under my truck, and maybee it only leaks out when I am driving?

I have a 2003 ram 1500, with the 5.9, and an automatic transmission.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Could be leaking into the coolant. Problem there is how will you see pink tranny fluid in pink coolant? Any oil "trails" leading back from the tranny?

If you're refering to a rupture of the internal, radiator trans cooler, generally you'll see, muddy, tan colored trans fluid and or the same color antifreeze before a constant fluid loss.

The only times I ever saw "disappearing trans fluid" with no traces of it on the ground, was with a ruptured vacuum modulator on a trans. It was sucking the fluid through the vacuum line into the intake via intake vacuum.
