the intake alone did nothing for me except make a horrible noise. but like stated earlier...it's part of a system, when i had the exhaust done, it really woke the truck up. as far as mileage...w/ the intake alone i saw no gains, and w/ it and the exhaust....maybe a mile/gallon gain....maybe....but it's absolutely more fun to drive now.

Okay so we have all given you different models and have thoroughly confused you let me add another. Volant has a closed box tech. that is supposed to keep the air cooler and has an outlet for a future ram air add on. Its sounds viscious and is real trick looking under the hood with the carbon and polished stainless cover. Search VOLANT on Google and then buy at Autoanything.com (free shipping and real simple price matching -a buck)

Honda Insights and Toyota Priuses don't have KN style air filters.
This is because they don't improve MPG.

If you give 1000 consumers a gizmo for their vehicle that does nothing
500 will come back and report that it improved MPG for them....
this is just random chance.

There is one 'air intake system' that can improve MPG
it is a intercooled turbocharger running a light boost of about 2 psi
with the transmission ratios changed to match.
You can go test drive these "light turbos"
on VW GTI 2.0
Subaru and Volvo vehicles.
Some years PT Cruisers have this as well.

use code gift10 at checkout and it should take 10% off of a few of the intakes. even works for the bully dog programmer.

I do like the look of Volant. Does it need oiling? I wouldn't want the ram air piece, I like my fog lights to much.
The good thing about K&N is that I can local and get a recharge(oiling) kit.

I'm still debating a CAI after one year owning my hemi, Any Filter that needs oiling is not good, It mess's up the mass air flow sensors due to oil collecting on them, GM advises not to use K/N filters that need oiling, or warenty is viod.

Volant seems to be the most expensive, but the filter assembly is self contained and no need for a heat shield and I like that the Hemi cover over the TB stay's in place.

The best bang for the $$$ is the EX system, Remove y pipe and run duals.

I recently installed the volant on mine. I wanted to keep the Hemi hat so that's why I went withit. My second choice was a Bruteforce. It didn't give me any considerable gains but it did make my tucksound meaner and I like the look of the carbon fiber lid. My interior has carbonfiber trim so it really compliments it. Here's the thread if you want to see some pics.

hemi's dont have mass air flow sensors. the sensor that is in our intake system runs about 20 bucks at your local auto part store. i have never had a problem with the sensor on my hemi.
