In cases like this I have a full size maglite to the left, a blackjack to my right, and my airhorns if I don't want to get out of the truck. I don't like guns, so I dont own. I have however encountered the other end of the gun. Nothing happened, I ducked and pressed the pedal. No shots fired.

My favorite thing to do, and I have done this many times, is when the other driver is up beside me and yelling at me to pull over so we can TALK, I point over to the side of the road he is on, yell back" YOU WANT ME TO PULL OVER?", he snaps back with a yes and while he is focused on the next thing that I say, which is nothing, I start to pull over into his lane as if I going to pull over going through his car. Scares the **** out of them and they usually end up up on the curb or in a ditch. Now I have the air horn and I added that into the mix....LOL This manuever has been sucessfully performed 3x's.

I can honestly say I've never pointed any of my guns at another human being. The shotgun is not loaded; it just sits in the back window to make someone think twice before wanting to confront me... It is a rather nice deterrent.... I've not had anyone yell, honk, make rude jesters, or any negative action towards me since I mounted it in the back window... If you’re opposed to real guns... put a toy one up their... the other driver will not know the difference...

Yes the 45 has a few rounds in it but it is in a locked case out of reach and is an "ABSOLUTE" last resort....

Would not help in my case. My windows are tinted to dark and I have a cap on the bed. And in the megacab, if I had anything mounted on the back window, noone would see it even if I rolled my windows down, there is just to much room between window and back of cab.

try living in the new york city area, lot's of wackos out here... and it's impossible to get a CCW permit, and knives have to be smaller than the distance from the tip of your thumb to the tip of your pointer finger. that being said my dad always told me carry a bat in your truck... along with a baseball glove and a ball, just in case a friendly officer of the law decides to question why you have a bat in the vehicle.

of course all that being said i probably would have been the one with the chilling look on his face if the guy got close enough for him to even THINK about scratching the chrome on my bumper. I'd have that !@#$ guy in a pit at my house like buffalo bill had those girls in silence of the lambs.... it puts the lotion on it's skin or it gets the hose again!

funny thing is i am licensed for concealed carry and had my xd .40 in the truck with me. the joy of being a texan. id rather not use it or even unconceal it for that matter. getting no-billed from a grand jury is not cheap. last resort only. most people i know don't even know i carry.

you americians are lucky if i put a shot gun in my back window I would have swat beating me down in the street , And to have a hand gun we need a resrticed licence and not allowed to carry at all have to call the police first and tell them your going to the range and your not allowed to stop anywhere along the way.
