Not really sure. My alarm beeps. From what i've heard when you have the horn honk to indicate that the alarm is on/off wears on the car's battery..I'm not really sure, so don't quote me on this..

Want to ask you a question though.. With the Diesel laramie, does it come with a remote starter? and also, in the winter time how do you start your vehicle when it's really cold outside?
I was thinking about getting a Diesel Ram, but i don't know too much about them. I've heard that you need to plug them into a electrical outlet to let the engine warm up...Any truth to that?

There is a procedure for this in the owners manual.

I had a '04 Dodge Cummins....Live in the midwest with winter temps down to below zero. There is an engine heater you can plug in (if you remember). I had it till this last June when I got my 2007 QC Hemi. Never had a starting problem. Most of all last year I never plugged it in. If I wasn't running into issues with mileage on my lease, I would still have it BUT I LOVE MY HEMI!!!! I also used Power Service with each fill.

Dunno if you fixed this and if this will even work with yours as mine is an '07 but try this:

Perform steps while outside of vehicle
Press and hold the Lock button for at least 4 seconds but not longer than 10 seconds, then with lock button still pressed press and hold Panic button
Release both buttons at the same time

To reverse the action just reverse the steps, hope this helps ya!
