Changing from Conventional to Synthetic?
I've had conventional fluids in my truck since new and after all the chatter here I'm curious about changing to Synthetic. Only problem I've heard of is since I have 80K+ mile on the truck will the seals begin to breakdown. I've had no problem with Conv. but I now realize I will probably have this truck well beyond 100K miles so I'm interested in longevity.
You'll be fine using conventional oil. Hell, it's survived 80,000 + miles so far, yes? If it's not broken...
And it's not usually mileage that deteriorates seals, it's the combination of age and lack of maintainance that does it.
Nice pic BTW, I'm seeing more and more of them as the older Vic's are phased out. Most departments are switching to them, or Malibus/Impalas,as the Crown Victoria is no more. Massachusetts State Police were the first here to though.

Im not sure about it making the seals break down. Usually its better for seals. I have heard of it exposing leaks that convential "hides." If you seriously wanna do it i'd do it now before you get more miles on just make sure you don't go back and forth...
