Airaid or K&N?

RE: Airaid or K&N?
The magazine tests that show hp gains with these aftermarket filters
use a scammer's trick
of comparing an old dirty and restricted paper filter
against the new aftermarket CAI.
When both are clean
the CAI's show no gain
because the stock Ram filter is very large
even larger than the LX 5.7 Hemi airbox unit in these tests:

even the best testing CAI shows small gains
on a stationary rear wheel dyno
and you have to wonder if that is because
there is no realistic airflow over the vehicle:

there are many mods that work for Chrysler V8s
so don't waste your money now on a CAI
put it off untill you have done all the other mods
and then be prepared to buy several, test them yourself
and send them back when you learn the truth.
The CAI's don't improve MPG either
and if you want a second opinion on that
from one of the oldest advice columnists of hot rod magazines
and also from one of the smartest EFI tuners
