No, you have some bad info there. 05 was the first year they recommended 5W-20, had nothing to do with MDS motors. MDS started with some 06 models.

My bad, I was fool enough to believe another post and pass it on. You are correct, my '04 calls for 5/30 and the '05's started calling for 5/20 as per Chrysler. Last time I believe a post on a forum on the internet...

I wonder why they changed the weight to 5w-20.

Somebody, in an article in a magazine, quoted a Dodge engineer saying it was to improve emissions. For all we know it was just a typo in the manuals. LOL
