Just curiuous as I was considering selling my 95 v8 auto with 456 gears and getting a manual with v6.

Amazingly true. And the V8 adds another 20 horses. You want to see change, you have to go to the HEMI.
Your S2000 has more horses that this truck.
I would wait for the 2009, with the bigger engine and more horses. It will still be a V6 but a 4.0L engine.

 

What are the expected hp/tq #'s for the new 2009 4.0L V-6?

 

Subtract about 7 hp from the above numberto be 'real world'
because Chrysler admitted
that they were shaft dyno testing
without the power steering pump
attached to the 3.7/4.7/5.7 engines
even though 95% of customers
have a power steering pump
on their vehicles engine.

Horsepower figures are interesting things...

my 62 Town Wagon with the 225 slant six (same displacement as the 3.7) is 140 horsepower with the super six setup
my 68 Sweptline, with the 318 is rated at 150 horsepowr
and this new truck, the 07 3.7 is 215, a vast improvement over the old v-8 designs...and gets much better gas milage

so what are we complaining about?

 

Absolutely nothing.... I'm satisfied with the v6. Gets better mileage overall and even though it may lack in power....the few mods ive done to it have vastly improved the overall look and performance.. the only thing i absolutely hate are the stupid wheelcaps and small tires that the v6 model comes with....but i already fixed that problem
