Default home link garage door opener

i recently totaled an 02 1500 quad, got the insurance money and bought an 07 1500 quad 5.7.
before the adjuster took the 02, i got my nerf bars and overhead console. my question is:
1. will the nerf bars fit the 07?
2. will the homelink work on the 07? if not, can you get a home link for the 07 thru anybody, dodge or ???
i tried installing the homelink to the 07 and the truck would not start and turned the check engine light on.
i figured it has something to do with the fuse capability of the circuit.
longstory short, is there any way to put the homelink on the 2007?

As far as the Homelink goes, I found this for you.

The nerf bars are a different story. The only way you are going to tell is to see if the bolt pattern will match up under the truck. I would bet no though. If it doesn't fit, try to sell your set for the '02 to offset the cost of a new set for the '07.

If the homelink console doesn't fit, sell it on ebay to fund a new one. I bought a homelink console there, they don't last very long. I puchased a 2002 homelink console on ebay without thesunglass holder and just switched the module over to my console - keeping the sunglass holder that came original in mine. The console module is a self contained unit and there were no additional wires needed.

I never could getthe homelink to work in my 2005. But I will tell you one thing about your "no-start" situation. When the dealer replaced my headliner, there was soemthing wrong with the harness on it (it has a factory moonroof), the truck wouldn't start when you either plugged in the new harness, or left the harness unplugged all together. The connector is in the Drivers A-pillar. Chrysler likes to control EVERYTHING through the PCM.
Also, I was told that the 2006+ models don't use fuses. They use the "CAN-BUS" system, so its like relays or something. A guy at work blew out a circuit with his trailer lights and it caused a bunch of other things to not work. When the dealer went to fix it, they said that there is a few bad modules out there, so it took a few tries to get it right. So good luck adding anything electrical to your 2007.

The BUS on the 02 and 07 are different. You will need the console for an 06-08 to work on yours.

Sorry.
