Default 2005 gtxtreme pickup

i bought a 05 gtxextreme 1500 pickup with a 5.7 hemi. it is the first new pickup i ever bought. the engine failed at 2700 miles. i bought it in june of 07, it sat on the lot for 2 years could that have something to do with the engine failure? the dealer isn't saying much as to why it failed but it's been three weeks and they are having problems getting all the pasrts together to replace it

My truck sat on the lot for 14 months before I bought it. The first that my salesman told me was he was going to change the oil as sitting that long is not good. Especially in the hot Florida sun and such. I still had a problem with a tranny solenoid about 2k miles later but all is good now. I can only imagine what an engine sitting around for 2 years or more would like on the inside.

Anyway, hope you got one hell of a deal and hope they gave you a new car warranty so that every thing will be covered for the repair... Keep us posted as this does sound interesting.

the dealer called today. all the parts are in and there putting it back together. i did get a good deal and they gave me 5 years/60000 bumper to bumper. i extended that to 7 years/70000, but the last 2 years are 100.00 deductible.it was brand new so the warranty started the day it was put in service. i guess sitting 2 years isn't good for anything except wine or cheese, not a hemi. i should have got the first clue when i opened the door and saw the wasps nest.

got the truck back yesterday. so far it runs great. after driving a sebring with 94000 miles on it as a loaner for over a month, the ram feels like i'm sitting in a big rig. they still won't pinpoint what exactly went wrong. they just said that daimler chrysler stands behind their products and my dealer stands behind me.
