Default 02 ram stereo question

OK so i just bought an 02 ram 1500 quad cab 4x4, it HAD a stocktape player in it, at the dealership we swapped a 5 disc changer from an 03 ram 1500 quad cab into it. now i cant say 100% that it worked right before so this tricky to figure out.
in my truck the speakers are not right, the front pass. side is loudest, drivers side front and back are very quiet.
also with the key in the ACC position the cd player does seem to be on but you can hear the cd spin at the begining.
a dodge dealership said that the computer may have to be scanned and reflashed for the right radio?
has anyone ever heard of this or do i just have a bad radio, or is the 02 and 03 different?

The first question would be; does your truck have the Infinity system? It seems like it may be an issue between the radio and amp, or if its a premium radio it could be giving low level speaker signal, needed for the amp, straight to the speakers which willlower the overall volume. I have heard of the radio having to be reprogrammed because of the vin actually being programmed into the radio. Normally in that case though the radio wont play at all.

As far as I know this is a simple plug and play, I've done it with 2 modern mopars, an 03 and 04, one with infinity, one without. No problems.
