Hi bought my truck Wedensday; Friday CEL pops (P0442)on and also realize both hangers for the exhaust are broken.I have the pipe hangersrepaired, I lurk this site and buy an aftermarket gas cap, disconnect the negative for 15 minutes, light goes away for a day. I lurk again and read about cracked hoses. I look and I find one, anyone know the part number/hose nameor even if this is the cause?? I have owners manual on the way, and I'm going to pick up a haynes today. Please Help a Noobie!! 2003.5 QC Hemi 4x4...

dude...dont waste your money on a haynes manual...go online and download the SM for your truck hemitruckclub.com

as for the name of that hose, i can't recall right off the top of my head...but read through the manual and it'll tell ya or at least give ya a better pic

The Name is A cracked rubber Hose.

 

Thanks Dr. Marvin[sm=lame.gif]Grabbed some hose off a spool and cut to length, and disonneted the neg. Hopefully tomorrow my dash wont light up. After I yanked the hose off the truck, I see there's part number taped to it, so I'll call a stealer tomorrow. Loving the truck so far other than that, I'm off to a rough start for my first pick up.

 

It's just a rubber hose don't make a big deal about it.

I am Sure it not a 3000 PSI +High Pressure Stainless Steal BraidedRubber or TeflonHose that needs special fittings on the ends and needs to be pressured checked at 5000 PSI before you install it.

Next thing you be trying to tell me it is a Skydrlo running thought it.

If it is I send you one I work with them just about every day.

Yeah, I'm sorry man, I just bought this thing Wed only 50K miles on it, and I guess I'm a little excited and pretty touchy, my fault.I figured with the pictures and the request somebody would be like evap hose #5XXXXXX, or it's a X/16th dia hose, you need x amount. You can find them here. So I just got mad. But you were right, cause I just grabbed some hose and put it on there. I apologize. I altered your prescription and took 4 beers, I'm good now. That furkin light better not come on tomorrow though!!!

 

Is the hose dry rotted.

You mited check if it falls under the 7 year 70000 mile Factrory warranty.

If it falls under that look at every thing hard get what you can while the warranty is still good stick it to them while you can.

 

I bought it from a Honda dealership, will Dodge have anything to do with me?

 

Yes they will if it still under factory warrranty they have to just bring them you'r VIN Number have them look it up at the parts department and as long as you'r there have them print you out a Build sheet this will tell you every thing you truck came from the factory stock It's nice to know what you truck should have in it like gear set Posi Ect.

Let us know what happens Dodge had have a couple diffrent warranty programs 5 year 50000 miles, 7 year 70000 miles I was kinda screwed when I got mine it was 3 year 36000 mile.

Is you truck Stock No big tires or Lift kit Dodge will use that to get out of fixing you truck unless you find a Blind dealer that over look that kinda stuff.

The short factory warranty kinda sucks but at least When I start with bigger tires and Gears and other stuff it will matter, I have anouther 12000 miles before the warranty is over, then look out it's MOD Time.
